Before, During, and After: Bedroom Makeover for AirBNB

Thanks for clicking! Keep scrolling to see some of the paint and design process in creating this lovely room for AirBNB

BEFORE...

DURING...
It still feels like a teenage girl's room, but we're slowly adding in furniture here, and getting the pieces together to achieve that boho/ industrial style we were going for

Same point of view, AFTER:
DURING...
One of the challenges and first things to do in this room was to turn the convertible leather sectional couch into a full-time guest bed, so, we converted the couch out into a bed, bought a twin size tufted headboard, and topped the bed with a queen size memory foam topper for comfort before shopping for sheets, linens and other textiles! We had to cut the memory foam down a little bit to fit around that awkward-shaped arm-rest section... What can I say, it's European furniture!

Then we had to find the right colours for the room ... they had to match the dark floors, the light coloured bed and headboard, and tie everything together and look neutral, so that any guest with any taste could find themselves at home in the space.

I was inspired by a dark green accent wall at that time, so that's what we started with, but we soon realized...
We soon realized that this made the room look smaller. I also didn't like the way the light pink and the dark green looked together because it wasn't neutral enough for a guest room, and the contrast created a different vibe from what I wanted for the vibe in this space. So we painted over it with primer, and tried a green accent wall in another way, with a lighter shade of green on a different wall, contrasted with "elemental gray" on the rest of the room...
But this colour combination didn't feel right either! It felt like a clash of two accent colours! I certainly wanted this room to have a lot of greens and natural/ neutral colours, but this was too much, of the wrong shade! I decided to prime over the green wall and paint it elemental gray like the rest of the walls, and pull dark greens into the design throughout the rest of the decor.
Ahh, perfect :)
We finished it off with the necessary Feng Shui elements for each section of the room, the right art, and listed the room. It got booked instantly and has been filled ever since :)
